When you light a candle, you are lighting a fire in your house. Follow these safety tips to be sure that you get the most out of your candles and don't burn your house down.

  • Never leave a candle burning unattended.

  • Always burn candle in a candle holder or container designed for use with candles. Keep burning candles away from flammable items.

  • Keep burning candles out of reach of children or pets.

  • Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch before you light the candle.

  • Don't burn for more than four hours at a time.

  • Always remove any stickers, packaging, price tags or labels from candle before burning.

  • Be sure to keep the wax pool free from wick trimmings, matches or other debris.

  • Keep candles away from any drafts, open windows, ceiling fans or other air currents. Do not group candles too close together. Both of these conditions may cause the candle to drip and/or burn too fast.
